15 justified by the arbitration court of the Russian athletes will not receive invitations to the IOC for the Olympic games 2018 in Pyeongchang. The decision was made to consider the case of the Russians the task force.
The special group of the International Olympic Committee considered the case acquitted by the court of arbitration for sport of the Russian athletes and decided not to send invitations to the 15 justified the Russians for the next Olympic winter games in South Korea’s Pyeongchang.
Addressed the cases of 13 active athletes and two coaches. The list includes: skeleton sliders Alexander Tretyakov, Elena Nikitina, Maria Orlova, skiers Alexander Legkov, Evgeniy Belov, Maxim Vylegzhanin, Alexander Bessmertnykh, Evgenia Shapovalova, Natalia Matveeva, skating Olga Fatkulina, Alexander Rumyantsev, Artem Kuznetsov, sanniki Tatiana Ivanova and albert Demchenko and Sergey Chudinov skeleton.
Earlier, the IOC had submitted a list of viable athletes, made the Olympic Committee of Russia with a request to consider the issue of their invitations to the Olympics-2018.
Having considered this issue, the task force unanimously recommended to deny justified the Russians. The full reasoning of the decision of sports arbitration is not published, said the IOC following the meeting of the group.
“The Commission agreed that the CAS decision was not cleared in doping, without giving the Commission reasonable assurance that these 13 athletes can be considered clean,” – said in a statement the IOC press release.
