Moscow, July 27 – AIF-Moscow.
Russian scientists are working to develop Navigator in the gravitational field of the Earth, which will complement the GLONASS, the head of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) Alexey Abramov.
What is the GLONASS system and what it is for?
According to him, the Navigator will help to navigate in tunnels, under water without communication with the satellites, RIA Novosti reported.
Abramov said that scientists are already creating prototypes of the means of formation navigation map the Earth’s gravitational field, and the primary gravity meters ground, air and space-based metrological maintenance of gravimetric and gravitationallensing measurements.
According to him, the results will be the basis for creating a navigation system that is protected from artificial or natural interference, and operating in almost any conditions, including underwater and underground.
In addition, he noted that the gravitational system and the GLONASS will operate as a mutually supporting system.
Abramov added that in the future to allow for transition to unmanned vehicles.
