Moscow took the first place in Europe in terms of the dynamics of growth of life expectancy.

Over the past five years, the life expectancy of Muscovites has increased by three years, said Director of the Institute of health organization and medical management of the Moscow Department of health David Melik-Guseinov.

Melik-Guseinov participated in last July 12-13 in England the meeting of experts of the world health organization (who). During the meeting the experts discussed the prospects of development of national health systems to 2030.

“Who experts noted that Moscow became the leader on the speed of the dynamics of increase in life expectancy in the city for five years it has increased from 74.5 years to 77.2 years. Before such a rating was not watching the overall performance,” said Melik-Guseinov.

According to him, this became possible by reducing mortality among the citizens of Moscow from diseases of the circulatory system through the provision of quick and timely medical aid. Over the past five years, the death rate of Muscovites from coronary heart disease decreased by 33%. In the capital today operates 28 vascular centers, said Melik-Guseinov.

In addition, Moscow is among the leaders for speed of arrival of the ambulance. So, on a road accident place doctors on average arrive within eight minutes. In other countries the average speed of an ambulance is 10 to 15 minutes.

Also for five years in the capital have improved indicators for the detection of tumors at an early stage of oncological diseases from 52.1% to 55.2%.

The Deputy mayor of Moscow in the government on issues of social development Leonid Pechatnikov has expressed hope that by 2020 the average life expectancy of Muscovites will be 80 years old.

“The experts noted the rapid progress in the field of healthcare. Indeed, the capital closer to the most developed countries in life expectancy,” he said.
