The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the main idea of the parade in honor of celebration of the independence Day of the country was that in the center of Kiev side by side with the Ukrainian soldiers were allies in the fight against “Russian aggression”. This was the Ukrainian President said Saturday, August 26, at a solemn meeting on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Ukrainian world Congress, reports UNN.

The President noted that units of the Armed forces of the United States, UK, European countries, NATO, Moldova, Georgia “shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian defenders went on Khreshchatyk and independence square, symbolizing the unity of Ukraine with the world”.
