President Vladimir Putin intends to participate in the elections of municipal deputies in Moscow, said close to the Kremlin sources of the TV channel “Rain”. According to interlocutors of the channel, in this way, the government wants to attract the attention of voters to the election, not only municipal, but also presidential, which will be held in March 2018.
Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov neither confirmed nor denied this information. “This can never be excluded,” he said. In the territorial election Commission Gagarinskiy district, where the registration needs to vote for the President, said that nobody warned them about a possible visit of the head of state.
Another source channel close to the government, said that “lead by example” is not only Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who spelled out in Ramenki, and other high-ranking officials.
Earlier media have repeatedly published materials about that in the presidential administration think of different ways of attracting voters in the precinct in March 2018 and the rise of interest in them. One of the recent high-profile news was the publication of the newspaper “Vedomosti”, sources asserted that the administration want to revive the elections, putting them as the main rival to Putin woman. It was called a few names, including Ksenia Sobchak, which sources called “perfect candidate.”
Sobchak said that doesn’t deal with the presidential administration and the Kremlin”s plans she knows nothing. In his blog on the website of radio station “Echo of Moscow”, she wrote that “the elections in 2018, would have been the right call for a person who wants to return to politics in the country.” Responded to the publication of Putin, who said that each candidate has the right to expose themselves to the presidential elections in 2018 and Ksenia Sobchak is no exception. Putin stressed that it “must determine who is better for the Russian people as head of state.”
Yulia Latynina suggested that the publication was a preemptive strike due to the fact that Sobchak did discuss the possibility of nomination for the election of the President. “If Ksenia Sobchak will go to the presidential election, is absolutely clear to me that she would do it without the consent of the Kremlin administration and, moreover, the fact that there was such a disgusting vile leak, or rather bases, is connected exactly with the fact that Ksenia Sobchak not consulted with the presidential administration, because otherwise I would, of course, never will agree, that leak wasn’t”, — she said in her author’s transfer on “Echo of Moscow”.
In July 2017 RBC became known that after numerous discussions at meetings with the experts of the political block of the Kremlin administration decided that Putin will go to elections as the independent candidate. To associate his candidacy with the “United Russia” was considered inappropriate because the President enjoys the support is broader than “United Russia”.
The legislation provides two variants of nomination from political parties and self-promotion. In 2000 and 2004, Putin went on elections as self-promotion, in 2011 — from the “United Russia”. That the party will nominate him as their candidate, it was announced at the Congress of “United Russia” on September, 24th — then Dmitry Medvedev refused to run for a second term, proposing to nominate Vladimir Putin. The sheer nomination took place at the party Congress on November 27. After these decisions in Moscow began a period of mass protests.
The administration has instructed regional authorities to achieve the victory of the “main candidate” with a very high result, told RBC sources. According to them, speaking to the Vice-governors in December 2016, the Deputy head of the presidential administration Sergei Kiriyenko said that the main candidate “should win with a very high turnout of 70% and a score of 70%”.
Putin himself their preferences have not yet expressed a final decision on the nomination for the presidency is followed, stressed in a conversation with RKB Federal official and two sources close to the Kremlin.
