In early December, the international Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended the national team of Russia from the Olympics in 2018, however, some athletes will be able to go to Pyeongchang under a neutral flag. According to Deputy Prime Minister for sports Vitaly Mutko, a preliminary list of athletes have already been transferred to the organization.

“A working group of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), headed by Vice-President Stanislav Pozdnyakov. A preliminary list of the Russian athletes sent to the IOC and in the moment specified criteria for admission to the Olympics. To each their own: somewhere in the regulations somewhere” – quoted Deputy Prime Minister for sports Vitaly Mutko TASS.
Recall that on 5 December the Executive Committee meeting the IOC on which the decision was made not to allow the Russian team to the Olympic games-2018. The reason for this was the numerous doping scandals and the testimony of the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory of Gregory Rodchenkov.
Athletes who fit under the criteria of the IOC and which are “clean”, will be able to participate in the Olympics under a neutral flag.
